120 HOURS COMPETITION
ROK: 2016
TÝM: GABRIELA SLÁDEČKOVÁ, MIROSLAV CHMEL
"You are requested to design a house. The house will be a place suitable for human scale. A primary space that is conceived through your own intimate, personal and critical vision of architecture. Is it then possible to imagine architecture without site and program? If so how can they complement initial spatial qualities? In the final moment you should investigate these questions and reflect upon them."

Every house is arranged according to a certain principle, which forms its basic idea. If the organization of space is completely independent on the surroundings, the most important factor is a motion. It determinates basic organisation of the house and a person can experience space through it.
The
inner communication is a key point in our project – a staircase
surrounded by rooms. Their arrangement is based on the emplacement of
the staircase because they form its main supporting element. The
rooms are „voids“ defined only by walls which create barriers
that a person has to overcome through motion.

Without a fonction and a site, the
house becomes only a pure enjoyment of space. Its openess is a sort
of a question to a context and potential fonction. The void can
become full and the vastness can change its scale by completion with
context or program.
